The Official Type R Thread

ok well tried to make a different thread and mods deleted it. i really hate having everything in one thread..

anyways,

i ordered 2 12" Rs and was wonderign what box you guys have had experience with that sounded the best for you. im looking for a good SQL mix. drew up plans for 4.5 net ported @ 33 hz.. is th box too big? is the tuning too high? just let me know what you think cause i tried searching the thread and it sucks cause every 15 posts contain the words ported box and tuning

no clue how you smoked it... must have been sending it dam near a square wave.
yeah thats weird mine didnt pop mine just smoked, did yours pop? my signal was probably clipped b/c i can run viper gain at 50% h/u sub set to -15 and beat on it all day but w/gain at 1/3 and vol at 0 it smoked...

i bought an alpine mrd-605 mono amp, with a 1022d type r amp. 2+2 ohm, and a ***** am stealth enclosure. do you think it will sound good?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

its somewhere in this thread... useless thread that it is.

the 15's are done like they are supposed to be. Its not the same coil/magnet as the 12... the coil and magnet are both bigger... its designed as if the 15 is a completely different woofer - performance is DEFINITELY there too... the 15's are some of the meanest low note subs PERIOD.

definitely worth the extra $.
