The Official Type R Thread

is this true? the new type r to get really loud in ported enclosure needs 3.5-4.0 cubic feet?

i was just askin since i might be gettin one and the other topic said if i got a box that big with 1 12" type r i might be able to hit 140 db...

what happens if the box is to big for the woofer? and i should stick to 2 cubic feet then?

Get the new one. It is getting some nice reviews on the forum, and sounds to be much improved over previous Type R models.

Your lack of power can be taken care of with a proper enclosure.....and you can always add another amp later.

 
bump that m just get the type S, but if you can get more power then getthe type R, im not sayng you will not get good results using 300w for the SWR12"but if you get the new R's give em no less than 500W, you will be happy with a type S ad 300W, i wouldnt rccomend the old R's , to many issues to deal with , for one the Gay surround comes apart after a time of beat down, and no i dont mean abuse to the sub.....TYPE S! besides the new S looks sikk chrome on my 12"inch dubs, i mean sub...
