The Official Type R Thread

Ok so how would 2 Type R 12's in a 4.6 ft^3 box port tuned to 35hz with 1000 watts rms @ 2ohms sound. Is the box to big or small to match the power, or what because Im about to order my amp and subs so some insight would be great. I already have the box but I can always build another.[/QUit wouldnt be the best SQ setup but it would be pretty nice, i'd go a bit lower on tuning say 30Hz. depends on wha your after. you must be getting the dual 2 ohms. what kinda amp you gonna run?
I was thinking of getting the Alpine MRD-M1005. Or I can get the dual 4 ohm and run them 1 ohm and get a Hifonics BX1605D and give them 1600 watts rms, but that might be pushin it, dont know, what would you suggest. And I am going more towards spl than sq

How the hell do you hit 152.7 in the port and then 152.1 on the dash?!?!
I smell:bsflag:
smell what u want....i saw the numbers, my boy cal did the actually sensor location, but i know without a doubt 152.7 was the highest we hit. believe what u want!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

get the dual 4's run em down to 1 ohm,or if you want the mrd 1005, get the dual 2 ohms.. that kinda power wont hurt those subs, believe me.... i had 4 memphis amps on mine...jus for test though, not daily... so i know they can take it , just be Eazy on the gains and need a say your headunit volume.....

but how is that possible, juss doesnt happen, losin .6 from goin from the port to the dash. i mean think about it. any pics of the install.i mean i really wanna see prrof of this score cuz i neva seen .6 diff from the port to the dash. really:D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

ill get some.....

I have just bought 2 ten inch alpine type r subwoofers for $40.

They are rated at 500 watts rms and they are DUAL 4 OHM

I am looking to get either one amp or 2 amps to power these, if i use one amp, what ohm load will the 2 subs break down into and if i use 2 i already know that it will break down into 2 ohms a piece.

What kind of amp or amps should i get to make this system good? (brand, watt, price, ect...)

P.S.- this system will be in a ported 2.5 cuft enclosure.

Thank you

R's will go into 1 ohm or 4 ohms parrallel or series... memphis amps, Orion, VIPER, Phoenix, JL if you got the money with there overrated .......ss if you can or want to i would do one amp per sub, you can get an alpine mrd m10005, there rated for about 1000W rms @ 2 ohms, you get to of those and be easy on gains you should be set.

I was thinking about getting a 2005 model type-r but my amp (alpine v12) pushes only 300w (325w going by the test sheet). Is that underpowering the sub by to much? I wanted to get a single 12". I was also thinking about getting either the older type-r's or the new type-s's since both of those are rated at 300w rms.
