I'm always skeptical of people who bash equipment they don't sell ... unless they're actually willing to prove it ...
I've been quite happy with all the Alpine subs I've owned in the past ... and it's quite easy to argue that most subs are blown as a result of misuse by the customer ...

Does anyone know somewhere i can buy a Alpine Type-R 1241d for fairly cheap? Or would i just be better off getting the 1242d (which is alot cheaper)? My amp is 600 rms @ 4 ohms, so i dont know if the 1242's would sound very good.
