u hardly think itll take more power than a btl? i have to disagree with that. i forget the forum but someone tested it on 4k and it was taking it well. i mean 3k and not even warm. and a btl on 4k? everytime i ask everyone says no dont do it..btl wont take it. .this is just from what ive seen from tests..no personal experience. but if anyone in washington has a btl 15" id be glad to do a comparison on different power levels..

good find..im not downing the btl at all..in fact that was my #1 choice. but after my last ticket, the hdc is in my budget while a new btl is not.

plus theres a vid now of a btl 12" on 4700w...not sure how long itll stick around but theres proof.

That test has been around forever. Of the few complaints I've heard from BTL owners, I don't think power handling was ever mentioned. I understand about the budget though. I don't have experience with either, but I wouldn't hesitate if you found a good deal on one.

ya despite the tinsel slap issue which ive experienced. if i had the money id take the btl hands down. but at least this way i can get a sub and soon another battery...for almost the same price.

pretty sure ignoreme and others are running 3k daily with no problems..not even warm.

I ran my BTL15 on an MTX TE4001 (3750rms), and a Memphis 4kw...

Had no problems with either...

I have been asked the "how much power can it take" many times and my answer is it depends on the APPLICATION and the SKILLS of the enduser.
Both AQ and FI use very good parts and construction methods and depending on the application and skill level of the enduser either sub will work for you.

I would not recommend using 3 or 4 thousand watts on ANY sub other then a 3 or 4 second competition burp; even then you are risking damage and greatly reducing the life of the sub.

There is no mandatory universal or standard method of rating subs for RMS power. Most ratings are dictated by marketing departments and based on what they think the uneducated buyer will believe. The same holds true for "PEAK POWER".

I rate our products for "ACTUAL" power the sub can handle safely 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Actual power means what the sub actually receives after impedance rise is factored in and not what the amp is rated at.
