You guys see a testimonial from a very happy customer and still you can't resist commenting on what he spent. You have not seen any photos or videos of the shop's work to be making a judgement on their installation. It's just an assumption that maybe, just maybe, someone local could have done better for less money. Warranty? Nah, stuff is never defective, Amazon sellers never sell returned items as new, every JL part on Amazon has a serial number, nobody ever gets screwed. Hell, the OP can drive to his local Amazon warehouse and get a free exchange the same day, right?
