Okay guys.... it's done..... kinda... all the box stuff is done except for the tube cut sheet, ALSO added an electrical calculator for those people questioning whether their electrical system is enough to keep up with their system... It by no means is telling you that you're wrong, just showing you the numbers for informational purposes.... Anywho onto the program upgrades.... I added tabs at the top to make it easier to navigate, along with color coding all the tabs and sections... It will now also tell you when a port configuration will not work with the wrong box configuration... There's now the ability to do Wedge shaped boxes in both round and slot ports... HOWEVER!! the calculation for the cutout for the front of the box is crude, it's best to cut the board a little long and cut it down to fit properly... Otherwise the program seems to be working great and I'll have the HELP section written in ASAP and the Tube Enclosure cut sheet done soon as well... Enjoy guys and let me know if you find problems.....

whats k factor
the K factor is the "end correction" factor... it tunes the equation for the port you use... like a standard pvc pipe.... a pvc pipe with a flare at one end.... and a pipe with flare's on both ends like an Aero Port, sorta.... it assumes a small flare, like rounded over with a 1/2" router bit not the big bell flare an Aero has...

too bad it's an excel file
if you don't have excel it can run in OpenOffice which can be downloaded and used for free... and if it ever gets to be perfect it'll become an executable

I'm trying to use it right now. I'm trying to make a rectangular slot enclosure. When i change one of the heights it doesn't affect the net volume at the top, only the gross volume at the bottom. What am i missing?

Also, it gives me a port length of 31.25 inches, but when i add the 2 port pieces together it only comes to 26.893

Edit: Nevermind on the second part, been forever since i did this stuff. I forgot to add in the thickness of the wood and the length is actually measured in the center.

And, isn't the port area calculator lacking all 3 of the dimensions? It's only taking the sq inches/cf times the net area of the box.

It's because the gross volume at the top is for the round port enclosures, the slot port enclosures at the bottom have their own... and the NET volume should never change it's the number you're asking for...

kewl... I'm glad the math is working out, it's real easy to forget parts of the formulas.....

no.... it's there to give you the total sq.in. of port area you have that's all... the port displacement calculation has all 3 dimensions including the wood....

And thanks for checking it out and asking questions.... this can be a handy tool and the only way to improve upon things like this is feedback good or bad....

so what happened to the guys who gave praise to the first one? i thought with all the changes this one would have been a bigger hit than the last..... oh well, all's well that ends well..... thanks to all who checked it out and gave your input on what all it needed and changes you wanted to see, the link will be up as long as mediafire will allow.....

Wow, noticed no one said thanks...so I'll say it (even though I've yet to use the program)

Thanks for this! Thanks for spending your time to make a free program. It'll probably help out many, or at least lead them in the right direction. Keep up the good work, and your efforts are appreciated!
