I'm not sure if this is the place for this kind of stuff...if not mods feel free to delete it

I figured I could post up some pics of my installs in the old SPL truck I built, and show off some of my installs of the past //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This is what the truck looked like when my dad gave it to me....minus the wheels

Dad bought it new in 87

Here is the story behind the reason I decided to cut it out.

My first system was 2 L7 10s and a kicker zr240...bought it when I just turned 16. The first year the Solos went square...anyway...

kid at my school had 2 crossfire p1 12s and a 1000d...and mine was 2x louder then him, even in small sealed boxes that me and my mom built.

He went and switched out the p1s for bmfs...i added another zr240...still louder them him, so he gets mad takes his rear seat out of his ext cab silverado and does 4 15s and 2 crossfire 1000ds....and i was done with him until he started taunting me and called me a ***** and said I couldnt' get any louder because I didn't have any more room....which led me to this...

notice the super pimp single layer baffle...this was my reasoning...."all the pressure will be on the rest of the box (which was double layered) so it won't matter if the face is just single layered because there will be no pressure on it"....yeah right....LMAO the baffle moved more then the subs!

With the badass entry level eclipse HU! THIS THING NEVER SKIPPED! even when I wrecked the truck twice...never missed a beat. Not bad for 100 bucks haha

I don't even know what to say about this install lmao

301505_7.jpg

i remember the battery was unhooked because i blew an amp....but it was ghetto i know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The competition club me and a buddy started, had about 20 people competing in usac and meca for awhile, I remember driving in a convoy to all the shows...those were the days! everyone would get mad when we showed up because they knew we were gonna win haha

301505_11.jpg

I guess i'll also include some pics of installs from my crew, this is my buddy Anthonys s10, we cut his truck out the same night we did mine.

Just to show you how old these pics are...these are the FIRST run of SEs and 35.1s. He had 2 15s on 2 35.1s, ***** wanged hard haha

This is another friend of mins ranger, had 24 planet audio cheap ass 12s and 6 planet audio vector 1000ds, was loud back in the day, played any kind of music and moved a ton of air.

Never got finished though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

There is a small gap of pics here....

After the 12 10s in the silverado, the motor blew up in it and it just sat in my yard for A LONG time. Hell I thought it was just an ugly grandpa looking truck!

So I bought a 94 explorer off of one of my buddies and did a couple of installs in it

301505_50.jpg

started off with 2 DD 3512s and 2 bmf 1000ds....did a 152.1 in usac...not bad but I knew i had more in it...

rebuilt with 2 crossfire bmf 15s and 2 re 35.1s...did a 154 in this setup....

301505_56.jpg

301505_55.jpg

I used the same enclosure to set a world record in USAC back in 2003 with 2 DD 9515s and 2 35.1s

After I set the record in USAC we decided to put more focus into Anthonys truck, rebuilt it for 4 SE 15s and 2 35.1s...this thing GOT OFF would do a 149 ANYWHERE in the truck, at almost ANY frequency up to 50 hz....it was incredibly musical and threw down some low notes (i miss this install)

301505_53.jpg

301505_47.jpg

as I was driving the explorer my dad got the motor and trans rebuilt in the silverado for me....so I decided to keep working on it.

Remember all this is happening when I'm 17 or 18. I had NO CLUE about bandpass setups but I figured I'd give it a try lmao

301505_63.jpg

301505_64.jpg

was built for 6 Visonik 12s and 2 crossfire 1000ds. Sounded like total *******!!!!! Played 65 hz like a champ though!

And of course since I didn't know about bandpass I didn't realize I could have just added depth or made the port smaller and got louder, also the sealed chamber was double that of the ported chamber, I didn't have a clue lmao...its funny to look back on old installs like this and laugh at yourself

I was still daily driving the explorer during all this...went to meca finals in kentucky, on the way home a friend that went with us was drinking...and started mouthing off and I don't even remember what he said to me but I wanted to beat his ass right then....so i jerked HARD to the side going to get out and drag him out of the car, and I guess I pulled too hard....

hit about 20 fence posts

301505_66.jpg

301505_68.jpg

right before this is when I got the name TeamSubGoPoof because I kept blowing woofers every 2 days

well after I wrecked the explorer I went back to daily driving the grandpa white truck that I HATED, i didn't want to have anything to do with it.

My girlfriend (who i'm still with) started talkign about wanting to do something in her 2000 Hyundai Sonata...so I called in some favors to some friends I had made.

2 Brahma MKII (i think) 15s I got for 150 each from a friend in Memphis, and 2 american bass 1200.1s for 125 each from a friend in West Virginia...so 300 dollars in 2 brahma 15s and 2 1200 watt amps haha

301505_75.jpg

301505_76.jpg

was HARD to fit a big box in there but I got it.

7 cubes tuned to like 30 hz because I couldn't get enough port area

you can also see I had to literally DROP KICK the box to get it in the trunk

301505_103.jpg

301505_104.jpg

well after awhile the brahmas just got worn out (they were almost gone anyway thats why I got them so cheap)

so I replaced both of them with a DD 9515, still using the 1200.1s

301505_108.jpg

301505_148.jpg

301505_149.jpg

that setup BANGED in that little car, 145s on the dash and the whole car wanted to explode. I don't know what I did but that was the loudest thrown together install I've ever done haha

Well she called me up and told me it broke her windshield playing throw it up....I laughed and thought she was joking with me. Then she comes to the house later on and I see it....i thought it was great...she was pissed

301505_150.jpg

took a few weeks to get the insurance check for the explorer, so I started stockpiling up some equipment to get ready for the install on whatever car I finally got lol
