im going to attempt to make a 8" solo barrac l5 sound like something hopefully alot bigger. i saw a video of two 6.5" speakers that pound like 2 12", 1 15",4 10"

thats pretty phat. i have looked up the snailshell enclosures on the net, and found very little about how to make one. i know its not going to be easy any kind of input would be good thank you. i will upload pics as i begin the story of the little 8 that could.

im starting this mission tomorrow. i think im want to try this design. what do you guys think? i know i cant just throw up panels and think its going to sound good but how can i figure out the dimensions for my cuts?

What car do you have? post the T/S parameters for that sub and I'll have a look at what will work.

the car is a 2002 vw jetta(my girlfriends car)

heres a screenshot of the parameters in bass box pro 6

Ok we can go with a modified version of the horn design you posted, I estimated the dimentions of that horn and modeled it as it stood;

lots of output up high but poor low frequency performance.

If we make the chamber behind the driver larger, and the start of the throat smaller we get this;

Out put is still strong but the response is smoother and deeper, this plot also isn't taking into account the response of the car, idealy this enclosure should be positioned in the car so that the car becomes an extension of the horn flare, you'll need to expriment a little to find the best location.

The chamber behind the driver should be .735cuft, the throat opening=14 square inches, horn length=45'' and the mouth opening= 300 square inches. Exponential flare.

ok, what would the box dimensions be hxwxl ? or do i need to figure out with the last piece of info you left?
