you sturrin at me brah?
finally got around to taking some pictures while im deadening my car today, though you all might be interested in the shape of the box i built. also though maybe some genius would see it and be able to give me ideas about port location and angle for a ported box. basically it'd be the same box, but would extend up another foot and a half to the backs of the back seats.

it fits perfectly in my car, uses basically every inch of the well. dont mind the ghetto looking carpet, it covers everything you can see while its in the car.lol and dont mind the water stains on the box, it isnt warped. i didnt know until i pulled the carpet to deaden everything that there are 3 half inch holes in the bottom of my well, looks like they were there from the factory. weak.

they're soundsplinter rl-p's. couldn't find any pics of them installed, i'll get some when i put it all back together next thursday. going to have a real clean looking amp setup too. here a few pics of the deadener project. f-body is gm's name for the camaro/firebird platform.

kind of tough to tell, but this is the underside of the hatch at the back, where the latch is.

i'm putting spray adhesive top and bottom of this mdf sheet on the decklid, carpet over it. going to have the power wires on the outsides, coming in from behind the panels on each side, with the rcas, and speaker wires coming out of the carpet in between the amps. just test fitting here, going to put it all back together next week and start deadening the front of the car.

looks very nice man. i would have fiberglassed them in there, but thats just me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i dont think im ready to tackle a fiberglass box yet, maybe when i make the new one for 2 15's, or ported 12's, if i can figure out a design. would be a lot easier, this things a major PITA to take in and out of the car, takes two people. not sure what it weighs, but being at the very rear of my car, its enough to make it sit a bit lower in the rear than front.

very nice for ur first box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif GOOD WORK DUDE!
i've helped build a few before, just never designed and built one on my own before. not too hard with good tools, i've got a table saw, laser craftsman circular saw, craftsman professional scrolling jigsaw, a handheld rotary sander. just missing the router, had to use the jigsaw to cut the speaker holes.

i bought a 62.5 sq ft roll of raammat, and already had a 30 sq roll of edead on hand, along with 6 yards of ensolite, the black sound absorbant foam mat on top, which is something like 84 sq ft.

i used about half the ensolite, and probably 45-50 sq ft of the raammat. havent started with the edead yet, but its so thin, i may sell it and get more raammat. but i did the ENTIRE hatch, insides of both fenders, took off the electric hatch pulldown motor and did behind it, the metal part at the back of my hatch right above my subs, all of both fenders, the part you see that isnt deadened in the pics behind where my back seats were i got done. basically i just need to do inside the old 6x9 holes, they lead to the sail panels, probably just going to put a bunch of expanding foam in there, and cover the openings with pieces of mdf i made. then i should have every piece of metal behind the back seats covered.
