Most boxes I've seen are too small for the newer Sundown M series subwoofers .

What do you mean too small? Airspace? Any box that is designed for the Sundown Mega platform will work with the M series.

Beats a prefab. At least the gp boxes have proper specs.

My two SA-8s are in a GP audio prefab built for the SA-8s. It's great. First prefab I have ever bought. I will be building the next box for my 4 8s but only because I want a perfect fit to optimize space.

I agree, but I usually tailor my tuning to my goals or preference.

Cost is another consideration for me. Since I've got the tools and picking up a sheet or 2 of materials, a bottle of glue and fasteners is likely cheaper? But Idk for sure honestly, I haven't priced anything GP in years.
