Really? Got any links or anything? I'm not saying you're wrong. It's just that I hear this kind of stuff and I haven't read any real comparison reviews or articles by any reputable sources that confirm this.
When you only hear it from some cats on a site like this one who obviously have their own gear they are proud of, and who obviously won't justify spending that much on a sub, it's not hard (at least for me) to discount those kind of statements. Again, I'm not saying JL is God. I would seriously just like to read from some reputable sources where it's been compared in a controlled environment and outperformed by much cheaper alternatives.

Most XBL^2 subs will sound better, and get about as loud, while also being cheaper. The RE XXX from 05 and earlier is a prim example of this, as is the Adire Brahma, and the new Exodus Audio line of XBL subs.
