just wondered but not enough to go through the entire thread.

maybe a list is posted somewhere of what all is coming so far? If not there should be.

They're so real world that you personally can't get any useful information out of them.

As for my assertion that you had approached the companies, I was wrong. I will assume I misread or imagined it because I don't have the time nor the patience to read this thread again.

If I was able to get in contact with any of these companies I would be interested to see how they compare to the more known subs.

K heres the thing, I keep getting hate PMs and negative remarks on here. If you dont have something nice or useful to say, or ask, keep it to yourself. Please, i really dont care what you guys think of my tests, if you dont like them then fine. But I also have people calling, PMing, and Iming me to do these tests as tons of people are interested to see how they go.

Im working on getting one as well, I have access to a motor but that doesnt do me much good lol. Let me know otherwise maybe I will be able to borrow someones at the next meet we hold.

That is what I'm worried about. A lot of people who think they're learning something from this will make a buying decision based on that information. What do you guys think you're learning from these "tests"? It is a truly terrible way to compare the drivers against each other.

Also just so people get an idea. Only two companies have allowed to keep onto the subs at this point, three of the 4 or 5 subs will be going to pay the box builders as they are putting there money and time on this also. this is taking 18 pieces of MDF sheet to make the 9 boxes. That leaves me with a sub or two for my estimated 180hours of time put into this.

Btw for people who know me, i work two full time jobs over summer at $15/$20 an hour.

1350+1800= $2150 thats what I would make before taxes at my places of work.

I guarentee you no matter which sub/s I held on to it would not pay for that or anything close to that.

This is making it sound like you're expecting to be compensated for your time and that I don't agree with. I remember the original thread/post that started all this and you volunteered for it. Volunteering = doing it for free not expecting to keep subs as compensation. I understand wanting to cover material cost but all labor involved should be free or else the intentions behind those involved is shady.

I understand what you are implying but it is much easier to compare subs with the same vc, whether or not the nominal load will be equal, is something I will take care of. The thing is to compare a d1vc to a d2vc is simply not relative as the coils are not identical. EX. a HDC3 D1 vs a HDC3 D2 will test differently, it may not be drastic but it still remains a variable that if possible I am trying to remain constant, I am aware the nominal load will not be but that is something I can adjust. I can not adjust how one company's Dual 2ohm coil compares to another companies D1 coil.

well what im trying to say is that lets take a simple case.

driver A has a Q of 0.7 and a BL of 10Tm with. Its a dual 2 ohm wired in parallel

driver B has a Q of 0.2 and a BL of say.... 30Tm. Its a also a dual 2 ohm wired in parallel.

burp these two drivers in a sealed box at resonance with the same amp at the same gain and driver A is louder, but its not really "louder", its just that driver A has less back EMF and its impedance is lower so it pulls more current from the amp, the amp is working much harder at the same gain....

all im saying is be careful when trying to compare two woofers with the same resistance... resistance mans nothing, nominal resistance also means nothing... impedance is important.

I pay out my dues, I have helped tons and tons of people out, I honestly dont care if I make a dime off of this, as long as I can cover all my costs, this is an experiment that I seek results from, and that is what i plan to get.

For doing this out of interest for the car audio community and not caring about making a dime, you've sure made it a point to demonstrate why you think you deserve something for this and how valuable your time is.

All of this time and money being wasted providing relatively useless and meaningless "data" to the car audio community, nonetheless.

You'd be better off not wasting your time and instead spend it earning that staggering wage of $15-20/hr doing something productive for your employer.

By looks of the list the only company that asked for this test was RD. All the other companies involed like SD, DC, and T3 were contacted and asked to be involved.
