And you can recone an R, it's just there is no point on it considering their price to start with so I don't know where you're going with that one. Disposability has it's place in car audio - just look at Kicker.

I think the two subs are on par with each other but that's about it. If anything, Alpine is more innovative using their own basket castings vs. just buying some 12 spoke baskets on bulk and throwing a motor on em like DC does. I'm not bashing the product but it is what it is.

And the SMD affiliation is humorous, but i'm not even taking that into consideration. There are some other companies affiliated with him that would wish not to have gone down that road, which adds extra lulz.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I can't speak for every person, but I can most definitely speak for myself. If the Type R and the Level 4 were the only subs on earth, I'd run the Level 4 every day and twice on sunday...

I'd also like to say that buying a 15" Type R from an authorized dealer is $40 - $50 cheaper than buying a 15" Level 4 from Rusty...
