Featured The Equinox that Rocks?

I consolidated all my gear that I have so far in a large box. Cables, fuses, distribution and fuse blocks, speaker wires, interconnect cables, BT thing, body grommets, cable straps and so on. Just a few more things to arrive in the mail and I am starting this thing. I am tired of not having bass.

Thank you to Tyler @ Concept Enclosures. They had a model of enclosure that I liked with the right tuning and dimensions to fit the Equinox cargo area. I wanted subs up and ports to the rear. This is the enclosure they offered so I asked them to make the openings for the subs fit the Tropo XL 10's. We came to a good price and it got here quickly. I am MORE than pleased.

I'd like to put a floor under the box to better secure everything and use the empty section as the amp rack. Any tips on flush mounting using trim rings?
My saturn had a false floor similar to that. I had to cut and lay a piece of 3/4" mdf over it to stop it all from rattling 😂

But honestly it made it easier to secure the box and mount everything.

I went to Custom Speaker Pods website and ordered the dual 3.5" a-pillar pods for the Equinox... the only a-pillar pods they offer. They did inform me I could have them cut the holes to the sizes I need. So I did. They will hold my DD Audio AT-28a Silk tweeters (the one in my profile pic) and the DD Audio AM-3a (Silver Aluminum Cone) midrange speakers. I am getting excited!! It's almost time for the first component to be installed.

I think I have my starting points for all the crossovers!!!! I am going off the Fs of each speaker above the subs. Mid-Bass I am going an octave up above the Fs. The mids and tweets 2 octaves above their Fs. I will be using 24db per octave crossovers.

Subs - 0 - 80hz (Fs 40.1)
Mid-Bass - 80 - 400hz (Fs 39.31)
Mids - 400 - 2700hz (Fs 100)
Twts - 2700 - 20,000hz (Fs 675)

Looks about right for a pair of 10's, but I still question the downgrade from RF to CT. Whatever works for U and screw the trolls. I'd watch clipping with those subs myself.

Looks about right to me... send it

Just don't get too caught up with the "plan" location, reflection, etc will change where the crossover points sound best

What mids are you running?

I am going to sound deaden the back of the a-pillar pods. Which material, of the two I have, should I use? I have the 80mil stuff with the foil and butyl or the closed cell foam stuff which I think is 150mil. These pods are THIN.

I also bought some double sided mounting tape (gorilla) for positioning the pods and some thin closed cell insulation for decoupling the speakers from the pods and doors... ok, maybe more so for making gaskets. I received the speaker harness adapters for the front doors so the Earthquakes are going in first. Doors will be deadened then the speakers go in. I am going to run amp power up to the factory wires at the factory amp to power the midbass. (Bypassing the factory amp of course. I am just using the after the amp speaker wires so I don't have to mess with the door wire harnesses).

I'd use butyl/foil.
