If you apply it at the proper thickness it works better than brushing anything on - since the coating is more uniform. Saves waste, and as for making a mess, I don't know what gun you use, but our pattern is quite controlled.

Just to add to the DIY er's

USE GLOVES!!!!!!

Yesterday i put in about 4 sheets of SS on each of my front doors and well i can feel my finger tips. SS tore my fingers up from pressing it with my fingers. Sounds great and also makes nice DEEP cuts into fingers.

Got a 6 1/2hp compressor and the gun from PE... Did you remember to turn the tip PSI down to about 40? If you exceed that your pattern will go to hell in a handbasket. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

20sqft of matt for the doors and trunk lid? No, not at all IMHO. I used >36sqft just on my front doors alone.

Generally speaking, doors take 6 sqft., the rear deck takes about 10-12.

B-stock is thicker than the A-stock so it can be more difficult to spray
