The Death Penalty

Is the death penalty morally wrong?

still waiting on how this helps the economy....
I'm just not the super economists that you so often brag about being. So my reasoning will not be up to your standards.

I'm sure there is very complex math behind it all. But the basics are life sentence = 30k a year? Mexicans cost us billions a year.

You eliminate some of that cost (jobs are lost to them either way) and give them to very inexpensive labor (basically you pay nothing, but what you paid at auction for them). That has to equal out to some sort of cost savings.

Maybe it's different up here in Michigan, because we're so far north from Mexico, but many of our Mexican immigrants (legal and illegal) are actually making more money at better jobs than our poor whites/blacks/purples. The Mexicans have all the $15 an hour landscaping jobs vs the poor white slobs making $9 an hour under me (19) at the car wash.

yes. baptist
Not sure what is dumb about it? I am agreeing with you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif I was saying if someone kills someone and it is able to be proven, kill them. If not we just put them in a prison for life and that is a waste.
I should have put "Put them in a cell for life?"
No. I'm agreeing, sorry for the bad phrasing. If we are going to kill people, let's get on with it.

Actually, slavery might be MORE ethical than the death penalty.

1) Where will those immigrants go? I doubt they will just go back. More than likely they will try to lobby against your efforts or kill your slaves. (Ironic...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

2) I am no, nor ever claimed to be a super economist. I have claimed to be a wanna-be on many many occasions. Think of those white kids that want to be black.

3) You argument of cheap labor implcitly states that all "cost savings" will be reinvested rather than horded.

4) Tax dollars are fungible. Just because a tax savings is revealed, does not mean that congree will give it back to the people.

Perhaps you should gain some more marketable skills.

That's what those invisible fence dog collars are for.
True true, but imagine how often you'd need to change the batteries / charge the collars.

Unless it's a one-shot one-kill collar, electrocuted on the spot. Once they see one or two would-be escapists drop on the spot smoking... they might behave.

You're right... perhaps that's why I'm going to college?

I was referring to a 19 year old making more money than a 25-45 year old poor white person...

Edit: My point was that I deal with plenty of low income adults, and most of the immigrants are better off (however poor they are), than non-immigrants at the same level.

I was imagining it being more painful than just !!!WHAM!!! and they are dead. Perhaps some of those little security devices that spray the blue ink but with hydrofluoric acid instead too. That would be pretty effective.

Ha ha ha, speaking of the car wash, hydrofluoric acid in the eyes is not fun...

But then they'd be blind w/ respiratory problems, and they'd be little use in the workforce. Do you allow them to hobble around crippled, or do you put them to sleep?

Yeah, euthanization sounds about right.
