my only problem with the death penalty is, why do we have to kill the people who commit the crimes that are bad enough to be put to death, make them a productive member of the world, make them do hard physical labor for the rest of their natural life.

if you molest a child for 13 years, you have ruined the first 13 years of that persons life and also the rest of their entire life and also maybe even made them into a deviant yourself.

cut the guys balls off and make him split rocks for 50 years...might teach him a lesson. if not..atleast it gives me rocks for my driveway

Im for the Death penalty, it should never be taken off as a way of dealing with crime. The more you limit yourself, the less options you have. I think it makes people that MIGHT commit a horrible crime a little less likely because they think "well hell, i might get the injection if i do that." Makes people think twice. Use it less, but keep it on the books. Hell if we went back to the old days of tar and feathers and everybody carrying guns, i would guarantee a crime rate drop.

I'm not saying that the DP is ineffective at cutting crime rates. I'm saying that it's unethical.
