The Death Penalty

Is the death penalty morally wrong?

I'm on both sides of the fence.

If a man walks into a house, kills 2/3/family, knowing that if he gets caught, he will get DP/ LI; why should anyone feel bad for him.

A life for a life doesn't make anything any better. The Death Penalty is the easy way out IMHO. Killing is wrong on just about all accounts. Two wrongs do not make a right.

That's fine and all but we still should not be the ones to decide if they live or die. Yes it's horrible that there are people on this earth who are capable of doing horrendous and un-excusable things but I still feel we don't need to decide. Let them live the rest of the years on this earth staring at a wall and remembering why they are there. Once they die they will get all the punishment they deserve but it shouldn't be by OUR HANDS.
I understand and know what you mean, but to me, the positives just out weigh the negatives. Not really too much more I can say on it.

i am. people are quick to ask the "who are we to kill them" question when being caged for life is much more cruel.
Some people are happier in prison than being around the general public

I really think that people should be put through more pain than the way we currently do the death penalty.

I mean you do something horrible, they should skin you alive and roll you in salt or something bad.

how is being caged for life more cruel? Like honestly, how do you think locking someone up is cruel? They are there for a reason and this way they aren't out on the streets capable of causing further harm to a community. Perhaps we should just let killers run loose //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

So please....explain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

do you know how much it costs to keep those ppl alive? It cost somewhere around 30,000 dollars a year to keep one of those scumbags alive just so they can stare at a wall and think about what they did. Do you really think they feel badly about what they did if it was bad enough to get them life in prison? I myself dont want to pay higher and higher taxes just so a prisoner can eat three meals a day, watch tv ,and have a bed.

eh he's just here to joke and not have a serious debate. Oh well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif:rolleyes:
you can't debate this issue effectively. it turns into an "i'm more moral than you are" discussion.

I understand what you are saying as well so I guess we'll just leave it at that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The only thing that throws a wrench into it would be that it is situation by situation based. I mean if someone gives a scenario, we know the person did it, that makes it easier.

The ones where we can't be 100% sure, well that just sucks. I mean there has been so many cases where they find out like 10 years later the guy/gal was innocent.

You guys remember that story that was on here about the guys that put draino in the people's mouths, duct taped them closed ***** the girl etc?
