the big 3

i got my hands on a new pair of subs (i will update my project soon with pic too)

i was running my 2 12" pioneer´s 400 rms, 1400 max each, so 800 rms 2800 max on a crossfire vr1000d running 2 ohms

now i just swap the subs for testing them since they were used i had to know if they were ok, the new sub subs are 500 rms 1500 max each so 1000rms 3000 max but these are running 1 ohm (the amp is 1 stable) same tune on the amp from the pioneers, but now when i push them a bit the amp turns of for a sec then comes on again

i dont have voltmeter on the car (o buy soon) but i suppose that this happens cuze is 1 ohm now and is pulling more power from the batery and when the voltage drops the amp truns off

i was thinking about the big 3 since i dont have them and realy dont needed till now, but i have some questions

they will fix my problem?

will 4 ga wire handle the big 3? (wire is very very expenssive here 4ga is easyer to find e afordable)

4 ga is fine for your amp and big 3 with 1k rms.. are u sure 1 of the subs doesn't have a short or something? also what kind are they? could be ohm lod just a tad lower per coil on those making amp run little harder idk., what ohm are the new subs?.. u need to test voltage at amp while system running if dropping much below 13.2v u need to do big 3 wires

"understanding the problem is half the solution"

Shouldn't the amp give you some kind of signal as to why it's turning off? How can I know if big 3 is gonna fix the problem if we don't know what the problem is.

they are 2 12" alpine type r dual 4ohms wired paralel to 1 ohm

tested all 4 coils all of them betwen 3.9 and 4.1 ohms

im going to buy a voltemeter very soon

Without having equipment to troubleshoot it's hard to say if the big 3 would fix your problem. If it is a low voltage problem you would be better off upgrading the main battery in addition to a big 3 upgrade. If you use 4ga I would double it up, that would get you a thickness close to 0ga.

just lose all bass like the amp cuts off for like a sec and turn right on again like a fast reset

I dont know if big 3 are going fix the problem, thats why im trying to explain what happen and what i have changed on the sistem so if someone had a similar problem can point me on the right direction //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

that was my ideia after the big 3, a new and bigger battery, this one will die soon

my amp does that too but mine is just clipping., turn gain down a tad or next time it happens turn volume on hu down 2 clicks see if it does it at lower volume on same song., if not it's just clipping amp or hu on strong bass freqs..

What the fawk?!!!!!!!!!!!! don't help troubleshoot if you don't know how.

I didn't come across anything that was said/asked if lights were dimming bad, a little or at all. This is usually an indication that the big 3 is a def must and vehicle is trying to draw more power than it can. Those small tiny wires are being restricted.

lights do not dimm cuze i have led headlights

today i check with a multimeter.... and when it cuts of i have drops till 11v

my alternator is 120amps so its ok, next is big 3 and 100+ amp battery comming very soon

my battery is like 76amps lol and is from 2015 so it was just a case of when it would die....

with that i can handle my 2 amps right? im goin to tune the sub amp to around 600rms and speakers amp to 4x100 rms
