Well Honestly, I've never so much as shot a real gun in my life, but I do see them as necessary. I'm one of the few people I know my age, and in MI, who support owning them.
And it's true, the pussification of American citizens is already well under way. Look at all this political correctness bull$hit we put up with everyday. Taking away guns is just another way to control people, to make us feel even less powerful. Essentially alot of our basic freedoms have been pared down into narrow channels that we have grown accustomed to.
It happened in louisiana shortly after katrina, and many of the people owning those guns were people who weren't even using them. Still the people who shouldn't be owning guns, and end killing people are the ones who will still get ahold of them. Corruption is always there for people like that.
And while I understand right now, we're talking about Assault rifles which can be deemed unnecessary by those who are afraid of standing up for our rights, what is happening is we are opening a bigger door to condemning other weapons and rights. Honestly, it's written in the constitution that if our government is f*cking us over, we have the right as American citizens to liberate ourselves of it. Now I don't see that coming in the next year, but say we did necessitate action from our citizens to protect ourselves from harm, that our own government might do to us.
If you ban assault rifles, are you really going to go to toe to toe with a soldier armed to the teeth? No one would stand up to them, and those who did would be mowed down.
Basically your hurting yourself if you ban these weapons, your taking away another right that was given to us by our forefathers.
