So Im going to buy my new set up.

I looked on craigslist...which isnt the safest place but whatever it siubds like a good deal maybe a little too good...

The set up is two solo baric L5 12 inch with a hifonics 1505d amp for $150

My issue is that the guy says he doesnt have time for me to hook it up. But he's willing to use an volyt meter to show me it stil works.

Im kinda sketchy about this.

I dont know much about resistance and what not. But i do have my own volt meter and i was wonder step by step how will i check if the subs are still functional and working without actually hooking it up.

Please give me some opinions andboptions Asap.

Im going to check them out later today in the afternoon.

Thanks.

i persoannly dont buy equipment you cant hear before buying . i always run the gain up and down etc. while playing . also play the subs diff volumes and listen for scratching . that can be done mostly without em hooked up but if you get burned you wont buy without hearing something again

as stated before, inspect the woofer mechanically. a voltmeter isn't really going to show anything, but a dmm or ohmmeter can give you the impedance of each voice coil. If it's a dvc 4 ohm woofer, each voice coil should read ~ 4 ohms +/- a few decimals.
