testing ground

I think i have good voltage but just curious how to test if a ground i have is a good ground or not, how do you do that with a dmm.

for my voltage only drops to 13 at the amp with a stinger spv70 in the back 1/0 power wire and 1/0 ground wire to teh front battery and i have a zx1500 and zx850.4 running so roughly 2200-2400rms and only have the 2 grounds done on the big 3 no alt to battery and a gold duralast upfront for front battery.and voltage is 13 at idle full tilt not bad i guess.

but i want to test certain places to see if i get a better ground connection to the firewall or the fram instelf, so how do you check resistance on a ground

if i was trying to test resistance with a dmm, i'd use the resistance measurement, but thats just me...

im pretty sure you get a live wire running from a battery. put the red prong in the wire. and use the black prong to test the spot.

take your dmm.

add some wire to the neg lead so you have some length to play with.

put the pos lead on the pos post on the battery

then put the negative lead wherever you want to test grounds and a good ground will be at a place where the voltage drops no lower than if you have the lead on the neg post on batt.

i understand that but how would i test it with a dmm i know to set the dmm to ohms where does the pos and ground points go from the dmm

ohh and i went out and tested using the pos on the battery and neg on ground spots and all my grounds i have read the same as battery so i am good my truck has good ground throughout the whole truck, 12.3 volts is what my batterys rest at i should give them a nice charge i guess

check the resistance from your negative battery post to the ground you're checking.
