Technical advice need on my box (JL10w6 version1)

I have a ported box for a JL 10w6 version 1. It has been setting in storage for a long time and I just hooked it up again last weekend. Sounded great until the foam cone surround ripped apart. Now my delima is that I can not buy a new 10w6 version 1 and the new 10w6 speakers are extreamly different. I was wondering if I could use a 10w3 vesrion 3 as it seems to be the closest thing to my speaker in the JL line up. I might have to add a spacer so the 10w3v3 can fit into the smaller box and also maybe add some stuffing to make the box seem larger.

I have a PPI PC2300 amp

If anyof this makes sense please give me some suggestions.

My other option I believe is to have the speaker repaired but since its a foam surround I would like to upgrade to one that has rubber.

Don't buy the w3.

If you are going to do anything, try to locate one of these:

That is a w6AE clone. They have identical T/S specs and cost much much less than the w6s. I'm pretty sure the AEs are the same as the v1s too. I bought my JWS 10 for $40 shipped but I doubt you will find that price any where.
