Sorry, you take someone's money and claim to send the stuff out, you need to send some proof. $1000 is a shitload of money, and to the people who said it's not big deal, then I say you're being too flippant.
I don't know either of the parties involved here, but I would be somewhat upset if the guy with my $1000 kept giving me a bunch of bullshit.
I'm sorry if you're busy, dude, but lots of us are ****ing busy. You think you're the only person in this country who has a lot of shit on their plate? Get off your *** and send the ****ing number already.
Personally, bones, I'd already file the PayPal dispute as it is. He's likely pulled the cash already, but if not it'll at least hold it until the subs arrive, then you can cancel the dispute. Worst case, it'll put a freeze on his PayPal usage if he's at zero balance, preventing him from doing any more PayPal business till it's sorted out.
For him to win the PayPal dispute, all he has to do is submit his tracking to them (since he doesn't seem to want to give it to you) and they'll find in his favor, and you'll (hopefully) finally know when your subs are coming.
Whatever happens I would NOT be apologizing to this guy for bringing this up on the forum, even if the subs arrive TODAY. This is NOT your fault, and he's being very immature in how he is handling it... just ignoring it. Not cool. If the subs show up, then you should just take them and simply inform everyone that they did arrive, but the seller's communication was horrible (I think this has been established and backed by others now, sadly). You don't owe any kind of apology. You haven't jumped to conclusions, you're going on the evidence available to you, and have been more than patient in waiting 2 weeks already on a $1000 purchase.
Screw that.
