So I have a 3HP with an 8 layer aluminum flatwind which is 75mm tall. You're saying if I plug the large pole vent I should see an increase in thermal power handling translating into a lack of thermal compression if I decide to do a burping setup?

And if I just plug it and don't do any burping, wouldn't that sound like as$ for listening music?

it wont have the same effiency but with severals spiders ur fs goes up anyway. fill ur pole vent with coldroll and ur Bl will go up as well.

i have never used a 8layer coil before i normally mess with subs with a tight gap. tighest gap frankin sub i have built i blew at a show last sunday. top plate measures 2.208" coil was 2.155. i beat it hard daily for a month then friday did 50+ burps getting it louder. then sunday it was cold not even 50f outside i did a full tilt burp with it cold and it rubbed hard,lol.

basket venting? i will sometimes machine some 1" diameter brass roundstock as spacers between the motor and basket this add ALOT of cooling...

i got my tc9 on a 10" basket i worked on. it is a t3 tss style basket with a 8" spider platform,looks like a tc sounds basket.

Well with basket spacing, a pole plug and aluminum flatwound coil I don't see 1500 watts rms being that far of a stretch and 2000 watt burps I have no pole plug no basket spacing and a copper round coil and I run 1200 watts rms.

i'm gonna see how it likes 3k,lol. i built se 10" that will handle 1500rms daily and 2500 burps. it sounded better and was 2dbs louder than stock.

the 10" i killed at the last show i gave it 3k allllll day and it never even smelled. i also had a alu cone and dust cap and the dustcap i made to glue to te cone and former for better cooling.
