Well, here we go. I didn't go around advertising it much, but I got sick of tearing up the Lexus trying to get it loud so I bought an S10. I was looking for a CRX (duh), but wanted to be different (or so I thought) and I found a good deal on an S10 locallay so that's what I went with.

Big ups to all the Team Redstick guys who put in just as much work as I did and to Alan Hall for all of the advice. Nobody does all of this **** by themsleves. This truck was truly a team effort.

As I bought it.

Guttting. Those jumper seats actually came out (which is legal).

This was the first box. The one that I used at SikNic and to accumulate all of my points to make it to finals. This box did 156.3 with 2 AQ 18's on a D5 and actually set the records in my sig.

Don't remember who's bright idea it was to try the $50 paint job, but here is the first coat. Notice all of the yellow on the driveway. We all had yellow on us for weeks. F3M4's girlfriend actually still has some on her toe. Lol. It cam out umm... ok? As long as you stay more than 25ft away from it. Lol.

Anyway... wanted to squeeze every db we could out of it so I decided to add another 18 along with about 100 sq ft of deadener, filling in the voids on the sides of the box and every other trick any of us could think of. So a new box went into the works.

Kitty hair in all of the joints.

Port and top.

As you can see, the middle sub being higher than the others didn't leave enough depth to fit.

Had to notch the port and 45*. Filled with kitty hair, sanded and resined everything.

Still not much clearance, but hey, it fits.

Finally got all of the deadener layed and box in the truck about midnight on Wedneday when we were leaving for finals on Fiday morning.

The finished product. We did all of the taping and finishing touches (hungover) Saturday morning at finals.

Here's muh guts.

Here's the turd at finals sticking out like a **** on a fish. The ugliest vehicle there. I had the front row outside corner. Awesome. Lol.

And, well, the results...

157.5db and 2nd place in the world in Stock 0-600w. And the loudest non-crx 0-600w vehicle on the planet, I might add. Not bad for a n00b.

And just for all of you DBDrag or sealed enthusiasts (because I know you are going to ask)... we did one single test burp sealed on the dash. 155.7.

Well, that's it. Coming back harder, stronger and louder next year. You'll have to stay tuned.

60 would be insane. My goal was a 58 and we almost got there. Probably could have with a little more time, but I think I did ok considering I beat 3rd place by 3db. 60 is most definitely the goal, especially if I stay in Stock 0-600 because it'll take that and more to keep up with the "Loud n Clear" guys who dessimated me. I hate the fact that I have to get a CRX to be competitive, but I like that car anyway. I think I may concentrate on trunk for next year, but I would still have to get another vehicle because the Lexus is NOT an SPL friendly car. Trunk isn't exactly a pushover class either considering that both trunk WR's were set at finals on Sunday with a 155.6ish in 0-1k and Alan Hall throwing up 158's in 1k+.

man i say dont get a rex. keep working on the s10 i thik when i few more things get figured out on them the rex will be obsolete in everyclass in usaci. well maybe not sb1 and sb2 lol
