target voltage?

What would be my target voltage using a DMM to set my gains?

2 Alpine Type R 4 ohm subs and a 1600 rms at 1 ohm Hifonics amp. I'm still not sure how to get the target voltage. Can anybody tell me what it would be using these numbers?

edit: would it be 34v? That's what i came up with

here's how i see it.

my amp is 1600 rms at 1 ohm and the type r's are a final ohm load of 1, so take 1600x1, which equals 1600, and find the square root of 1600 and that is 34. Is that correct?

oh, and do you have to turn the HPF, LPF and all that down, or do they just recommend it?

Did you even use a calculator? The answer would be 40.

Formula is sqrt(P*R).

P=RMS Power

R=Resistance

****, it is 40. thanks. I wonder how i got 34?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

but that formula i did above is correct isn't it?
