Talk me out of buying this car

If you make over 6 figures a year...buy it. If not, it's probably the not smartest thing to do with your money.
It takes 6 figures a year to buy a 20grand car? Yeah....I like those Audi A4's. But what is a "Stage 2" involve? Is it 2.0 or 1.8? The 1.8 are DEFINITELY slow as heck.

But I do believe I am passing on the Audi and looking for a BMW now.

I am happy with my $11,500 02 RSX with 59k on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I love that A4 though, regardless of its reliability its a nice looking car, but I wouldnt own it on that premise alone (and I dont think anyone should, but people buy cars just for their looks quite a bit...)

Ok...

Don't buy it.

I am actually looking into Audi's myself. I like the A6. Some say the ride comfort of Audi is different and not comfortable compared to a Benz, I honestly dont know I havent got around to test driving yet. I plan to this summer.
The ride quality is superb on the Audi. I have an A6 for sale. I don't want to get rid of it, but My girl wants a truck instead.

Why not check the BMW forums for people dumping leases on 335i's? I've seen a ton of them and a lot of people will offer YOU cash to pick up the lease terms.

That body shape Audi is a B5 chassis code which carried on from 2002-2004. It comes with either the 1.8T Turbo engine or the 3.0L N/A motor. With the K04 Turbo upgrade, injectors, and a tune you are looking at around 250-270hp on pump gas. They are very fun cars however, usually surrounding you in many creature comforts while still being a thrill to drive. I would say they have the comfort of a Benz, with the sportiness of a BMW. Maintenance is about the same as any other car. German cars in general are a bit more finicky when it comes to maintaining them. Be weary of your timing belt change at around 90k. Most places charge around 2k to do it.

E46 (2001-2006 body style) M3's are cheaper than ever now....if you can afford the maintenance, go for it. If you can't afford the maintenance, it's probably not the right car for you and a leased 335i with free maintenance would be your best bet.

I don't lease automobiles, if i'm paying for it I will own it, title in hand. All maintenance will be done at a local BMW dealership. I'm actually going down tomorrow to see how much a new 335i is going to run me out the door. That way I can load it the way I want it.
