T3 TSS Thoughts

Guys this thread is turning into what i didnt want. I am asking about the product not JD. I could care less what JD does in his spare time on his PC. IF the product is good and can accomplish the goal i have set then i will be happy!

Edit-- If the TSS cant get as loud as the HDC3's then i will not buy it. I am asking opinions about the TSS. I am mainly concerned as to what the sub will do on the bottom end of the spectrum. So basically depending on the enclosure that i run would you choose the TSS or the HDC3 For a low tuned application, I want opinions on the subs not the owners.

I have no experience with the HDC3 so I cannot comment on that. But I can tell you that one of 2007s MECA and IASCA world champions, Dave Brooks, was using 10" TSS woofers for sub sonic bass response. He won with the highest sub bass score. The subs are tuned to play 3-20 hz. This is mostly useful when watching movies with explosions and such.

and? the t3 stuff is selling.. so good for them. nicessary? no.. but it sells at taht, why not keep it at that, eh? i know you as the consumer want the cheapest you can get. but from the retailers point of view it is perfectly clear.
We can thank eBay, online retailers, etc for this. I honestly think this hurts people who try to sell anything here. It seems as though just because something is not considerably lower than eBay or online stores, people selling used have to drop there prices and sell their stuff at a loss.

It also seems as though products that were bought authorized don't make a difference. Sure, people want it to be bought authorized, but what difference does it make if the warranty will not transfer over? Or even if it was bought authorized, people still expect it to be lower than eBay and online store pricing.

Another thing that hurts people selling their used items is the fact that it is used. Seems like even though it's in mint condition it needs to be sold for a low price just because it is used. Will become used anyway, and I understand there should be a price difference but sometimes people expect things to be much cheaper.

As others mentioned before, distributors and and manufacturers have contracts in place. If the manufacturer wanted to sell directly to you, they wouldn't bother having a distributor or retailer in the first place. Having distributors/retailers expands business.

I can understand wanting to get the best deal possible, but sometimes you just have to live with the price, even though others have gotten it at lower prices. You can't always expect to get something at a steal, sure sometimes you will come up, but its not going to happen all the time.

how would the TSS compare to either an HD3 or the HDC3 in terms of output?
Varies. Nobody is going to directly know. And I doubt many people have even compared them directly.

BTW, if you want low end, and I know there are TC haters, but I have found that they make low end monsters. Just another option. There other companies that produce great low end drivers. I haven't heard the T3 so I can't speak about it or compare it to TC, but I've owned many TC drivers (not as many as visitor, dalucfier, and some others), but still a good amount and I have been impressed with the low end that their drivers offer.

my original plan was 2 lms ultra's so i dont dislike tc at all honestly. but if i can get something around the 1k range instead of spending 2k then i would go the cheaper route.

I wish Corey J would come on here and tell his story about JD, if you think JD looked bad on here, his story makes him look like a real ass
I do have some rough times with JD . We came to an agreement and made it all work out in the end . I beleive he runs his buisness just like any of us would if they were being pulled 500 different ways . There are alot of people that want JDs attention and product ! He may not be liked by alot on here , but he is an admired competitor and owner on termpro . I had my moments with this company but its all worked out ! I love my TSS 10s !

JD is a smart business man. I recieved very good customer service from him.

Besides, he is one man trying to run a business that is getting big enough to need 20 or 30 more people.

i emailed him yesterday, he emailed me back today. If you were running a business and people were buying your product used from someone else and then wanted you to fix it then i can see that being a problem, esp. for a small company.

Understood, besides, let the product speak for itself.

Before I got my hands on my T3s I had tested several other subs in search for the best for my car. I tested the MTX 9500, JL W7, DD9500, Orion HCCA, Stroker Pros, there were a few others.

In my tests the T3 played the loudest with the flattest frequency response. They were simply the best
