T3 audio

Never said they were.
A few hundred were purchased from TC with the known intention to use them in the T3 line.

Once they are all used up (very soon) The new T3 designed frame will be put into use.

It will be backwards compatible for our 2010 models though.
That is a lie. The only thing you received from TC Sounds is a cease and desist letter. You purchased the frames directly from our vendor and they came directly off our tooling.

uh oh i thought maybe t3 had paid FI/Crossfire for using there pat on 15"& 18".

kyle i was told by a certain someone anybody can buy the frames BUT they cant be sold as new subwoofers using the frames.

tc still own rites for the 10 and 12 correct?

That is correct, but the thing that people get confused is the difference between the physical tool and a design patent. TC still paid for all four tools (actually we have two sets, so its 8 tools for the Ti series). We don't lose that just becaues we don't own one patent for one country, and whoever owns that patent doesn't automatically own the tooling. Most of our tools are not patented, but they also don't often cost tens of thousands of dollars each like our 18" frame does. The patent protects the cost of the tool to some degree, but it only grants the rights for someone to sell an identical part and only in this country.

Posted this before, guess I have to post again.

Awesome, you sir have an email coming your way. Thanks again, and for those who have not dealt with you, I highly recommend they try. You are one of the best in the business that I have ever dealt with as far as customer service goes.

Thank you, that means a lot.

I'm certainly not the best, but I try.

You had an additional invoice for licensing fee which you also never paid for you.

Well they all arrived.

From TC

See what happened was unfortunate and if it is true of what I hear, then I feel for ya, but there are better ways to deal with it than drama on forums.

And what I understand of what has happened is that TC came into some troubles and had to sell off and liquidate some things. A few companies picked up some toolings and patents as well as parts and such. Now that TC decided to make a come back, regrets were had of selling off those things and in trying to protect the product styling and designs that TC offers, TC is retracing and trying to get all that stuff back and/or trying to get all others to stop using the parts/toolings/patents that were purchased.

It stinks, and in a good mind set for the future, T3 will not be using that part in the near future. That still does not stop the other dozen or so companies using it or the other parts that were picked up. But that's not my business.
