That is correct, but the thing that people get confused is the difference between the physical tool and a design patent. TC still paid for all four tools (actually we have two sets, so its 8 tools for the Ti series). We don't lose that just becaues we don't own one patent for one country, and whoever owns that patent doesn't automatically own the tooling. Most of our tools are not patented, but they also don't often cost tens of thousands of dollars each like our 18" frame does. The patent protects the cost of the tool to some degree, but it only grants the rights for someone to sell an identical part and only in this country.
