T-line HT boxes, with kerfing

This was my first try kerfing. It looks like I'm not the only one trying it LOL.

Actually I'm really impressed with the whole thing. I used the crossovers and speakers out of some old Cerwin Vega house speakers.

I used Re Audio 8's for the subs. And I'm getting these plate amps. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-802 I'm going to hook them up when they arrive.

I don't have a build log, just a couple of pics. Its a tapered T-line, with a flare on the end. I don't think that it effects the sound at all, but it sure looks cool!

I have the subs connected off of an 80watt amp, and they seriously pound! Its hard to believe that its only 8's!

Only the 8' is in the t-line. Its 5.6ft long, with the dampening installed its probably about 40hz. With a 2 : 1.25 taper.

Here is a sketch of it. ITS not to scale but thats pretty much what it looks like.

i could be wrong, but the sub on the side sounds like HEll i bet. the 3 front subs are sealed. lame. but you may have learned something for your next attempt. or i will if you correct me

edit. nice kerfing

First of all those 3 aren't subs. Secondly, sub bass is omnidirectional and placement of a sub on the side of an enclosure doesn't hinder performance in most situations. If he is using it to extend into the midbass regions then yes some imaging may suffer.
Do you thinking every speaker put into an enclosure is a sub? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif :crap: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

I'm getting a little imaging problems. But its nothing thats bothers me. The sub is playing up to about 120hz. I have them high passed at 40hz for right now.

After you successfully build a tapered T-line, then you can talk to me. Until then just shut up.

And your calling me lame, frontstage: stock monsoon. Turd

But wait, you have two more posts than me, so you must know more about everything. So pleasssssse tell me, how can I make my car sound as good as yours?
