system upgrade

Me and my buddy are looking to udgrade his blazer. hes got 2 12" kicker cvrs running at 2 ohms and 1 12 kicker L5 at 2 ohms on 2 kenwood 1000 watt amps.

its loud but sound quality is lacking. hes looking to get just as much bass with 2 new 12s. so could the more knowledgable ppl in here suggest a sub amp combo that would be a significant upgrade in sound quality and not sacrifice any spl.

sound quality is most likely lacking due to mixing up subs and amps like that. it would be near impossible to tune that right. how much space is he working with? that is an important detail when choosing subs.

hes got literally the whole back half of a blazer to work with, not worried about luggage space. your probly right about the mixing subs/ ported and sealed, but nonetheless he wants a new system and ima get his old stuff so im trying to help him out best i can. sooo 2 loud sq subs and amps for around 1000 bucks??????

probably not, i listen to alota metal/rock as well as hip hop so the ported l5 will hafta go. i am hoping the 2 cvrs will sound decent, ? with my clarion dxz855mp and kenwood amp? how much of an upgrade would alpine sws or infinity reference be in sq or not at all? or another sub in that price range
