Yeah this sounds rediculous but my system is too loud. I have a 13w7 w/ a 1000/1. It was underperforming so I brought it to bestbuy where a friend works. He tweaked the amp and now it pounds harder than ever. I can't listen to the radio w/o it being completely drowned out by the sub. Does any know of a good sql setting that still gives me above average bass response..

Is the rest of your system stock? If so, you are gonna need new speakers and definately an amp to power them. Like you said.....your sub/amp are overpowering everything else. My sub/amp setup is low powered, so my system blends perfectly and still gets loud.

turn the gain back down. at least until you are able to upgrade the rest of your speakers/amps

my guess is, BB setup your amp wrong.
also you may want to look into amping your fronts.

I would like to amp up my speakers but college starts in a week so I have no $. I e-mailed JL to see if they had any advice on tuning the amp. I was much happier when it was underperforming because i could still shoot quarters off my trunk. Now my trunk lid is about to fall off.

There was no sarcasm. I have just heard a bunch of jl audio systems and i was never impressed. Probably because i had such a high expectation going in. They are very good though just not as good as people make them out to be.

What would you call a really good subwoofer then?
