So if it is a bad ground, how do I fix it? No idea on where/what the ground cable is.

well if you dont know where/what the ground cable is, your not going to be able to fix it yourself until YOU learn, otherwise somebody else will have to do it for you. take it back to the shop and demonstrate how fked up your stuff is to them and demand them to fix it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif .

Ill see if they will fix it for free when I take it in for amp/sub install.

So hang on even after they screwed up a simple Head Unit / speaker install you are going to take it back for amps and subs. Dued are you on crack do not take it back to that place I would not but than again I do my installs myself. Just do it yourself believe me I did it and my first install included two amps speakers head unit and a lot of other stuff. Or find another place to install it.

ok so the ground wire is the black wire coming off of the HU right? So I guess I should follow the cable to see where it is grounded and re-ground it to something else?
