system set up, please read

Ok. Im changing my set up to this.

I would like to run my front component set up Active.

I have a 3 way active crossover upfront & have a pair of spl dynamics sd 6.1 mids & 2 infinty kappa tweeters. The mids are power hungry & ive read that some have run these at 200w rms each side. The tweeters are also powerful & sound nice as Ive never blown a pair yet.

Id like to know if I can just buy a 4 channel power amp & run these active ie 2 channels for the mids & 2 channels for the tweeters. also does it matter if the amp has hi pass filters built in justfor extra protection as the crossover already has this

What amp wattage can you reccommend please. thanx

check in the speakers section of the forum there is alot of useful info about going active...thats how i learned...

yes you can use a 4 channel to go active.....front for tweets and rears for the mids.....crossover on your amp shouldnt be a problem...there should be a switch on it to just switch it to full range and allow your 3 way crossover to handle the crossover points.
