System Issues

So far I've run into numerous issues on my DIY Subwoofer install.

First I skipped out on the remote wire giving me no power, solved that. Then signal has been failing to reach the HU up until this point. I messed with running RCAs from front to back with no luck, and these are quality RCA's.

I've also messed with the Headunit sound settings from Rear/Rear from Sub W./Sub W. to Sub W./Rear with no such luck. I then installed what I thought was a LOC but has also failed to work, I'll post pictures of that now.

I come here asking if what is in the pictures is actually a LOC or not and if it is not then I'm running to Sonic Electronix this second to spend $10 on a Line Output Converter.

All i see in that picture is a pair of cut rcas connected to a pair of speaker wire.... No not a loc buy a real one from sonic idk wtf you thought you were doing. Please take it to a shop before you damage your car or equipment or worse yourself because clearly you have NO idea what your doing.

holy **** that was harsh bahahah i love it man.

anyways thanks for telling me that was not a LOC. I am gonna buy one now.

and that bullshit rca splice came with the amp and i thought it was something of use. my bad im a noob first time doing this **** but i will learn fast.

thanks again

alright thanks for the good info.

i have been learning all of it on youtube watching really instruction videos from Sonic and other fun youtubers like Meade916.

i wouldn't be doing this in the least if i were going to get myself in some sort of trouble or danger and or damage my expensive equipment.

i already have been using home setup speakers with old amplifiers and preamps so i know what is dead wrong and not.

You learn by your mistakes but just make sure they arent catastrophic mistakes, just do your research and youll be fine...no more booboo mickey mouse **** though. Goodluck man

well i went out and bought a LOC for $20 from an audio shop, i know a little pricey but i don't like waiting on the little things.

anyways i hooked that up to the DVC sub in the back and got nothing on either channel. after that I then hooked the LOC to the headunit harness matching the diagram and stuff.

is it true that i need to wire a certain side of the car to the solid colors and another side to the striped? i thought just the posatives and negatives mattered but the instructions said diferent.

all in all i have an appointment with the dang shop tomorrow at 2:30. i asked "what if you don't fix it will i be charged for inspection?" he said "they'll fix it, but in an event no". he said they charge $70 for regular car audio installs if you bring all the supply

dude! what did i tell you about doing random ****!?! FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!

how old are you man? i feel like I'm writing to a 15 year old who thinks he knows it all? i mean i don't know much besides the basics myself but **** man your just doing things your way

i just watched the whole video and it looks like i did it right.

i should have at least got some sort of signal from the subs with what i did. i hooked up the posative and negative respectively from the harness to LOC on one side. I should only have to use one side because my amp is one channel

all i did was splice into where the harness was meeting with the factory stereo's wiring. that should have provided me with an active line for my RCA and i switched them all over the place from left to right and the RCA's on the amp too
