system in the winter?

is it ok to keep your subs and amps in the car when winter comes? it's starting to get cold here and i haven't even put in my system and i decided to wait till spring again since i thought the subs would mess up because of the cold. here the lowest it'll get is like 0 degrees farenheit. but then i thought that maybe it would be okay because that way the amps won't get hot ata ll and it would play even better. so should i wait till spring or go all out?

Yes, you will be fine.

Just let everything warm up before you crank the volume.

Here in Idaho, it gets really cold. -20 F. Ran my subs all through the winter no problems.

BTW...it gets very cold here aswell...had a stereo in my car for the past 8 or so years and have yet to have anything become damaged as a result of the winter months.

you can't run your system in the winter cause your subs will freeze up and if you run power to them, the cone won't move and that will end up frying your voice coils, and cause your amp to produce more wattage then it is suppose to, basically causing it to clip and could fry your amp as well. i live in michigan. i learned the hard way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

My amps and sub survived a Montana winter where we had a week of highs in the -30F range. None the worse for wear.

Same here .. Northern MN sees weeks of sub zero temps., Last year weeks of Sub 20-30 below temps.. My sub always loosened up before my car did anyways:uhoh: ..
