System in the winter

Well since Gamestop and MS are playing games with my money and my Xbox 360 I'm going to get my money back and get my system installed. I wanted to know if it's safe to play my subs in the winter? I live in Chicago and it does get pretty cold here but I don't think I'll play it in any temp under 30 degrees. So I need to know what I should do.

Were I live it gets really cold. I play mine all winter, the only thing i do though is i dont crank them up when i first start my car etc. I have a remote start and let it run for 10 min before i get in anyways and i always keep my stereo very low when i pull in at night but i have never had a problem with any system from the cold.

Subs generate a lot of heat, so given a few minutes to play at low volumes you generally can warm the suspension up enough that it won't be a problem.

I live in MI, gets plenty cold, and I've played my subs every winter.

ya... basically, dont crank it up for atleast the first couple minutes. moistier is what you want to watch out for. i live in michigan too and i havnt had any problems but i never cranked it up right away.

worry more about condensation than cold temperatures

if you run your stuff for a while - then turn your car off for the night and your amp is a little warm from playing - chances are you are going to form water on the heatsink, and chances are, on the inside too.

good thing condensated water is not harmful because its pure H20 and pure H20 does not conduct electricity (the minerals in the water do)

lol . gotcha nervous didnt i. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
