yes i have read stickies and other threads. i have also read about big 3 wiring but dont completely understand it being im new at this and dont know much about cars in general. im planning on getting two re se 12's:

and i plan on hooking those up to this:

i sorta know what ohms means, but it still confuses me. so here's where i'll need help. if i get that amp, and want to run those as hard as i can without blowing them or the amp, at what ohms will i need to power it with? a friend said 0 guage wire everywhere/big 3 (idk how to do big 3), a kinnetic battery and idk if i should get a better alternator. Yes ill have two other small subs in the door panels pushing 300 watts with a small amp, and some good 6/9 speakers for the rear.

whats the best way to hook this up? (make it simple for me to understand?)

ok nvm. i figured everything out almost. can anyone give me tips on big 3 wiring and if i get a kinnetic battery and will be running somewhere around 14-1500 watts will i need a new alternator? i have an 02 grand am.

you *should* be fine with stock alternator running that power. Again this will depend on the car, but definitely get a nice kinetik battery or other deep cycle (powermaster, optima, stinger, etc).

As for the big 3, all it is is adding some bigger wires to the factory wiring. You add a run of 0 gauge to:

Alternator + to Batt +

Batt - to Chassis

Chassis to Engine Block.

thanks for the legit response unlike the others. well, hell. i could do big 3 my self. my friend says to get a capacitor if im running it off the stock battery but idk. i hear alot of bad things about them on here.

Just do the big 3 regardless. It may not make a huge difference but it won't hurt anything either.
yep. better safe than sorry and its something useful to learn. i just got a job and make like 200$ every two weeks so its gonna take until spring time to start installing. i have everything figured out what im going to do except the amp to power the doors 5.25's. idk where to get an amp small enough to attatch to my door without getting in the way. any recomendations anyone?
