SX 15 not sounding right

Like speakerman said, you got the box layout all wrong. Rebuild and go with a both rear firing or a variance of that.
And yeah, 6 cubes seems WAY too big.

Sub up port back or to the side = loudest trunk setup.

So the port should be facing towards the cabin and the sub facing upwards? Wont I lose alot of sound? I dont have any sound deadener yet on my trunk lid so I figured I would lose alot of sound that way. Also, If I have my port facing the cabin, I wouldnt have atleast 3 inches from the port to the back seat.

No, port facing towards the rear of the car or towards one of the sides of the car.

wait...so for best sounding in a trunk sub should be facing up (toward trunk lid) and port should be facing back (towards the back of the trunk)???

ported boxes can have all sorts of issues, build a good sealed box and 3/4 ofthose issues are avoided= good quality bass!

they CAN HAVE, keywords.

IF you have something denser than air between ure ears you can figure out what works and what doesnt.

sub up, port back or to the side will wang about 80% of all trunks, GREATLY depends on box design and application, there is only a few ways to master a trunk.

Well, I am going to build another box. 3 cubic feet after displacement with around 56 square inches of port. Tuned to 33 hrz again. If I am not satisfied I am either going to get 2 new Alpine Type R 12's or go with another SX and another JBL 1200.1 and seal them up
