SX 15 not sounding right

Hey guys, I just got an RE SX 15 off of Netherland. I met him at UNT in Denton, TX. Well I bought the box to go with it and ****, its waaaaay too big for my trunk. I took my 3/4 back seat out and have the port in the cabin and the sub in the trunk. I checked out RE's site and couldnt find any plans for a 15 SX. Its a 6 cube box, 4 for the enclosure and 2 for the port; tuned to 33hrtz.

I miss the sound from my MTX 8500 12 listening to Breaking Benjamin, Stained, Nickleback, ect... The box was built well, but do you all think that if I built another box for it and fit it into my trunk all the way, that it would hit the notes of type of music listed above? Also, what about tuning and whatnot. This hits low, but not all that low. Linkin Park doesnt sound all that great either, its too peaky.

if you want more SQ you'll probably have to go a lower tuning...like 26-28 ish...was the 8500 sealed or ported? and SX isn't a SQ sub...you probably should have thought of that before buying...

I dont remember the SX15 specs off the top of my head, but 6 cubes seems awfully big. XXX's only need 4.

props for not blaming the seller on this one. but yeah that sounds a little bit big. what is the actual net displacement of the box?

Like speakerman said, you got the box layout all wrong. Rebuild and go with a both rear firing or a variance of that.

And yeah, 6 cubes seems WAY too big.

My 8500 was ported. 2.25 cubed box.

Ill make sure to build a different box. What do you all think I should tune it to and how many cubes? Anyone have any box plans?

Why does your sig say the SX15 is in a 4cube box?
