Switched to Eclipse, ne info?

Im switching from a SX to a Eclipse 15in aluminum sub. I did this cause my SX got fckd up by my little bros playin in my room and busted the cone. But thats cool they didnt mean to. But can this Eclipse get louder than my SX 12in. im porting the Eclipse in a subzone box i got from my local audio store. What do yall think of this sub?

Eclipse makes good subs. I had 4 88120DVC's and loved them.

Being a 15" compared to the 12", it should get louder.

How phat is the surround on the aluminums? I know the 15" Ti's have the surface area roughly equivilent to a 12.

!2" Aluminums have great SQ from the applications I've seen- dunno how they'd fare ported or 15" for that matter but they are a nice sounding sub-perhaps my favorite in the SQ dept compared to the Ti's

Normal rubber surrounds. None of that oversized crap.

So would that box be okay? The box looks good as hell and is made of 3/4 mdf. And it is a pretty decent sized box. NE thoughts

Would be better to build your own box, or have someone on these forums custom make you one for that sub. Those prefab boxes are crap.

find out how manyt Cubic feet it need and see how much the box will give it. If its not enough get a new box.

It's got like a rubber thing around the magnet and it's a chrome look on the cone. It weighs 55lbs. I know that much. What is the RMS/Peak on this bad boy. I checked Their site and they didnt have the sw8 models on their.

Sounds like I made a mistake in buying the Ti if they beefed the Alum up that much.

It either weighs less then that or its not an alum....no alum weighs 55lbs.
