Sundown vs kicker

Has has a old school blazer and it gets just nasty loud. Two sa-10's doing over 150 on music now that is something you dnt see everyday. Much less using $130 subs.
I'm hovering at 150s on music too, and my truck hates meters until its walled //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Oh and sure we'll TL it, same frequency.

no sir...that would be cheating //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif they should be in their own class lol
There is a guy close up here with a hatch, 2 DD9518s on 5k, tuned 15hz higher burping a 56hz note that's 2.4Db louder than me and thinks he's hot stuff.

We told him we used to have a guy with 1 18 like mine doing a 58 every time he turned it on. I agree hatches shouldn't be compared to any other vehicle in any way.

148.3??Now that is a cool STORY bra....

Well, we want PROOF that JL is any better....

What real awards has JL won in the last........5-8 years in the SQ and SPL lanes???

And you have been an installer for 15+ years you say??? Really???

Up until poast #20, no one had compared JL to any thing until I did. And it wasn't Sundown......DD3512 FIY

Bye they way, no one had comared JL to Sundown until YOU did.

You sure you actually have 15 years in the field.....
Ok,
JL audio 12w7(yes I have owned one) and a DD3512(have one of these to)

SD and xmax are all in favor of the W7 by far but the 3512 literally shits all over the W7.

On paper those specs may mean alot and say one thing but when the actual driver is put to use in the "real world",

they dont really mean squat anymore.
Yah it is a pretty cool story, and as I mentioned it sounds like **** but it loud, and I have since upgraded it to a 12w3 for more reliability(not as lound in current box). I didn't get into this to start a pissing match, but you actually brought the W7 into this based on your quote above. I mentioned that I though the W6 was a better solution instead of the W7 as it will play louder with les SQ. If you are selling the W7 as a HIGH SPL woofer you are not selling the right equipment to your customer, the W6 would be a better solution. As I mentioned in pervious post, I would love to see real world test results of any subwoofer vs. any other subwoofer before I would recommend it to another customer without previously installing one myself. I had said almost the same thing in all my post and yet I hear the same thing back that it is just better. Many post have in this section have mentioned different ways to get a great SPL number. Don't even try and challenge how long I have been doing this, I don't know you and you don't know me. Just becuase I have a different set of standards than you doesn't make me or anyone else inferior to you. I have taken this career seriously and I have a huge customer basis that loves my work. Last thing, even though the Solo X is not my cup of tea it is a BMF of a woofer and that changes the variables of the original post. This will be my last post in this section.

P.S. Secretariat just called me and asked for you to stop beating her.

Once your around here long enough you will understand. In any situation the Sundown will crush the Kicker. Doesnt matter what Kicker sub you pick.
BS,how can you make a blanket statement like that? I do not like kicker by any means, but most of you guys are just talking out of your ass. I heard plenty of kicker setups that get nasty.

Pay for your gas? I already stated my truck hates the meter, I have no doubt there's someone out there that 'can' meter higher than me. Vehicle, tuning etc means a lot. I don't think there is someone out there in a similar application moving more air and will out pound my Kickers with Sundown. I'll mention this again, it's nothing against Jacob's equipment, it's just designed differently.

Your clueless. Loud isnt the only thing that matters. Like others and myself have said specs dont mean squat jack. Its all in the OScope and TL, IE: real world applications. If anyone is talking out their rear end its Bassmekanik. Id love to see proof of his 148 on 250wrms.

Its not that man I have a local 05 impala that does 148.7 on music at 31hz all sundown and with ports shortened and tuning raised it does well over 150 and is very musical on 3000 rms. 2-12" nightshades and a saz-3000 at .5

I bet I could pull a 148 on just a Big Red and a Burrito //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I like it, sounds like we're on par. Did a 148.7 on some song before I got my alternator or actually set the gains correct on my amp. (been a few years so don't remember the song) With the 2 Solo X 12's I'm still running. I'm approaching 50 on a burp tone 43hz still running 2ohm touching nothing from what I listen to music at, so maybe .5db louder than where I'm realistically listening to music. Haven't clamped but with as much rise as I have in my 12cu. net box the subs are roughly seeing 1000-1200w a piece. Box is separate (long story) so each sub has a 4"wx24"lx18"d port. They murder my truck, and I haven't TLd it at the headrests but on the old AC they used to register louder there than on the dash.
