You're asking for proof of something that is completely dependent on situational variables, opinions, and experiences. What sounds better, what gets louder, etc are all things that cannot be quantitatively supported(for the most part). SPL has a million variables to take into consideration, as does SQ, that aren't completely in the woofer's control.
All I know if you can get a SA-12 for the same price(definitely less if buying authorized for both) than a W3V3. Opinionated SQ aside, the SA line has a lot more output potential while still sounding acceptable.
