Sundown SAE 1000d vs Hifonics Bxi2006d

So I am in a pickle. After my first build ever (all parts bought off ca.com //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) I have blown my amp and its time to get another. I have come across both of these and are in the exact same price range but I am still torn.

new, less watts, warrenty vs used, more watts, no warrenty

My old amp was an MA 1500 something so I am also afraid I will notice a big difference from the sundown and not so much from the hifonics.

Today I will be driving out to my local sundown rep who has been more than helpful and seeing/hearing the product for myself.

If you were in my shoes, which would you choose and why?

bobby, my last amp was around 1400rms. I don't "need" any particular amount just need a replacement amp and these two fell into my lap at a close price but offer different things.

In that case I'd rather have the Sundown. Their amps are great and their customer service is top notch.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I too would go with a SD1200....

the customer service and warranty are the 2 reasons why, especially since you arent looking for more power, just something clean and reliable, which the SD fits perfectly

The SD 1200 is an option, but I am comparing the 1000 to the hifonics. Will I really notice big difference between having around 1400RMS compared to 1100RMS? Or the jump up from 1400 to the 2000 the hifonics claims?

SAE 1000 IS NO PUNK...JUST BECUSE ITS A 1K WATT AMP DONT MEAN IT CANT PUSH UR SUBS.....WITH THE SAE 1KD MY HIGHEST SCORE WAS A 140.5 @ 42HZ SEALED AT THE GLASS AND A 144.5 @ 38HZ AT THE KICK WITH DOOR OPEN

ALL ON TL MIC....AND I HAVE 2 RE SE12'S IN A PORTED BOX OUT OF A TRUNK CAR.

ITS A SLIGHTLY UNDERRATED AMP...ITS A MUCH MUCH CLEANER SOUNDING AMP ....U WILL NOTICE DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT IN UR SETUP WITH THE SAE 1KD OR THE 12OOD

The only thing good I have to say about a Hifonics BXi series amp is that it is CHEAP power! I have had the displeasure of listening to several different BXi class d amps and I was not impressed! Don't get me wrong, for the money they aren't bad amps. My recommendation, should you choose to go with the Hifonics BXi line, would be to figure out how much power you need, then purchase the next model higher to ensure you receive that power!

On the other hand, I am still trying to decide if I want to get an XXV Colossus or a SAZ 3000D to push my DD 1508s @ 2 ohms. There are a few others that I am considering too: JBL BPX 1100.1d; RF Power T1500-1 BD, Kicker ZX 1500.1; MMATS D1600.2; Cadence iA9; and a few others.
