RD audio has horrible resell, if you ever change your mind about setups, you won' t be able to move the RD on here or anywhere really at ALL. For that reason alone I would go sundown.

How you score on the dash or the kick is very dependent on the build and vehicle. Some vehicles are louder on the dash while most are louder in the kick.

My Tahoe is .6-1.1 louder in the kick depending on the setup I had at the time. The build is different depending on what org. you compete in and there rules.

Trust me I know, I tried to sell 3 rd alpha's on here. i sold 2 of the v2's for like $400 shipped, thats like $175 each... compared to there what $450 each price tag?

Only certain brands around here do well.

You're right...in a sense.

Most newbs get on here and ask these questions and the same old history keeps getting brought up. There are so many Sundown supporters on here and every thread like this gets bombarded by everyone of them so the newbs get gang rapped by all their opinions.

Then the RD guys come in and voice their opinion and the whole mess turns sour.

The resell is another story in its own as well. People are willing to pay what the "market" will bare and CA is somewhat of the Ebay of price adjustments on used products in the car audio world. Not really an accurate justification for what the REAL value is. That is subjective all on it's own.

I was one of those guys that made the jump to RD after hearing all the BS and I don't look back for one second.

If everyone would stop bringing up the past, things may change. This will never happen, hence why these threads will all continue the same way as they always do until someone wanting to make a decision between the two brands makes THEIR OWN decision.

no not at all, but when you pay 350 for a used sundown 1500 and 4-5 months later turn around and sell it for 330, thats not to bad either...

Kevin on the other hand nit picked fights with moderators and tried to drop ship and screw some things up. That combined with Evan running his mouth on here all the time didn't help. Put that on top of the owner of RD calling me personally to test a SHW, and telling me it shipped 3 times and it never showing up makes then sketchy... so i'll pass

Evan and the rest of them have been gone for over a year and a half. We use actual rep firms in different states now. We do not have any Internet reps now. We let the actual customer rep the product on the net. So it is a clear opinion on the product instead of someone who stands to make profit.

We found using actual rep firms to be beneficial and much more professional. The only internet sales allowed are used product or the customer is not close to any of our authorized retail shops.

We do not even except any new online dealers. There are only a couple online dealers are left. Once they are gone there will be no more.

I am sure anyone who has dealt with RD in the past year or more know how things have changed and how the customer service now matches the impeccable quality of the products.

Yup serious. When is that SHW gonna show up you were supposed to have sent 2 years ago? You sure didn't have to send it to me, but you contacted me first.... not the otherway around

lol no popcorn. I'm not gonna argue with Steve, it seems as though he has fixed the problems of the past, and I applaud him for it, but goodwill is something hard to gain, easy to loose. And after you have lost the goodwill of the public its even harder to gain again.

I lost alot of money trying to resell some RD subs I traded jmanjr for, so I know first hand how hard it is to move them.

I know Steve - I am not putting down your guys, just making sure that people know the full details of the posted scores.

For example - I did 157.5 in the kick last weekend with a single 15 in the back of my Jeep. If I was to post the score I would be sure to say "in the kick" so that people would understand exactly how the score was achieved. I am 3dB louder in the kick in my vehicle.

Well...I don't like getting into these arguments, but I feel like it today. And no one should take any of this personally. We're talking car audio products here.

And no, the past is not the key to the future. The past is there to help you correct mistakes made, and make change.

Everyone always talks about customer service this and customer service that with Sundown, but let me tell you my customer experience with RD:

I JUST sent back my Alphas to Steve because one got fvcked up in shipping the first time (UPS fault) and it still sounded OK for a while so I used it. I had orginally told Steve about this and he said I could send them back now or use them for a while and then send them in, which is what I did. No problems, and I got 2 brand new Alphas with a stouter coil, that he built for me personally; NO COST at all. I mean, these are two measely Alphas, not a huge order of 10 HW.

Man, I'll tell you, I bet I bug this guy more than any of his dealers. I'm calling him sometimes 6-7 times a day, and sometimes for reasons of what I would even call "stupid shit" on my part. I'm the most anal person you'll meet about wanting my stuff right and getting it back quick. He's the coolest guy when it comes to car audio and NOT ONCE has there ever been a tone in his voice that leads me to think that he just wants to say, "God damm dude, quit calling me all fvcking day!" Always calm, always no problem this, no problem that.

Jacob...the exact same way. Nothing but great CS from him as well, but I just get tired of this RD bashing shit ALL the time by the same MF'ers.
