sundown 3k or stetsom 4k2d?

I have not tested the 4k2d personally to do a direct comparison but I would not be surprised to see similar reactive power from the 3000D at 1/2 ohm vs. the 4k2d wired at 2 ohms based on my testing of the 2k5d model.

the biggest advantage to sundown is customer service. as you can see jacob is on here all the time & takes care of his customers. a+ customer service.

Since the 3000D would have to be purchased used or refurbished I would guess the 4k2d is also going to be a good bit more expensive... so my question is, do you have a budget ?
Also... the 4k2d, as stated earlier, is a 2 ohm amp so is not directly comparable.

4k2 is 660+shipping from Brazil so about like 750shipped i guess. quoted from steve in maryland

To be "apples to apples" the 4k2d would need to be at 1 ohm as it is a 2 ohm amp (half rated impedance like the 3250 at 1/2 ohm).

If the OP has a choice between 1/2 ohm and 2 ohms only then it seems as if the 3000D would produce more power -- if he could run at 1 ohm the 4k2d could quite possibly pull ahead, but I'm not sure that Stetsom would recommend that load "daily" on the amp.

Yea i was REALLY surprised too...... We didn't clamp it or figure imp rise or anything but his 3250.1 compared to my 4k2d was a good bit louder on the meter and too the ear. And maybe its just my luck, but my 4k2d seems "protect happy" if u get my drift. It's very picky, goes into protect with any voltage over 14.5. I'm pretty scared to drop it below 2ohms, even with imp rise i would still be nervous.
