suggestions for high efficient amp for obsidian 15 D2.

Then explain to me what could be wrong with my vehicle to make me dim @ 13.5-14v?...
I would check your cars electrical system itself cause your dimming is probably not directly caused by your car audio, but the audio probably makes it worse. At 13.5 to 14v there definitely should be no dimming. I was at 13.3v at full tilt with mine and no dimming.

I agree alternator should be the FIRST thing upgraded in a vehicle but a lot of people like myself don't want to drop that much money into their older vehicles.
Which is why it has become more popular to buy batteries instead. All though if you saved your money from buying a battery here and there you can have bought that alt anyway lol.

I have no dimming at 11.9 haha...that was when my alt was not even hooked up..which was of course my fault for not flipping the breaker haha.

Faulty connections some where. This can include ground wires and power wires.
Really? because I've had similiar dimming in all of my installs and I put the ground on the seat belt bolt and shaved it down to bare metal.... Hmmm.

I guess I'll have to back over all of my wiring, grounds and big III then and see what I can come up with anyway to tell better where could be my bad point? I mean it's not terrible dimming but you can deffinatly tell one some of the heavier bass hits that it dims pretty bad.

all i can say is i dumped money into my alt and have never regretted it.

i used to say all the time just get a batt and youll be fine. (mainly because thats what i was doing) until i got my alt and realized the massive difference they make in an electrical system.

Depending on the car the best ground is typically on the frame. Not saying that the seat belt won't work, but it is not the best possible place to ground. Also, as said before, it may have nothing to do with with your wiring in the back. It very well may be an issue in the front some where with factory wiring.

Do you have a DMM checking voltage or do you have a volt meter sitting some where?

So I grounded my amplifier to my seat belt bolt and I grounded my battery to the default ground on the chassis. I then grounded my engine to the battery negative etc. Should I change my engine ground and my battery ground to something like the Strut Bushings? I've seen maxxsonics do this and it seemed solid. Also is the seat belt a bad ground? I've heard mixed stories.

I have a voltage gauge in my Jeep and yes I've run a DMM lowest I've ever dropped is 12.5v but that was idle after a long play and my battery was low on juices.

That really seems like a problem. I would be hitting the 13.3v when I would drop to about 26 hz and there was absolutely no dimming whatsoever. Running MB Quart ONX1.1500D with a 140a alternator + 2 gauge wiring (factory wiring lol) with just a yellowtop optima battery.

So by factory wiring what are you saying? I'm a little confused haha are you saying my jeeps wiring just ***** ? :p I'm still planning to redo my whole wiring and finding better ground spots to rule out anything when it comes to voltage drop/dimming. I'm not too worried about it but it kind of ***** when you're giving a nighttime demo haha.

and IRON I wasn't trying to be a **** towards you I just find it odd how my system can run 13+v and see dimming and many other vehicles I've done installs in as well and you're saying I need to be at 12v I mean my jeeps old but the wiring is actually in good shape.

Is the voltage gauge stock or after market?
